Kenya will host the second Africa Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) Alliance in Nairobi from Tuesday through Thursday.
The event is organized under the theme “From Agreement to Action: Implementing Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs) for Growth and Resilience in Agriculture.”
The theme reflects the emphasis African countries place on the agricultural sector in their INDCs.
In a statement, Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Willy Bett said the event is an important opportunity for Africa where agriculture remains fundamental to the livelihoods and food security in the region that are increasingly vulnerable to changes in climate.
At the forum, African nations, the private sector and civil society groups will share experiences and evolving practices. Delegates intend to identify common interests and opportunities for action related to rolling out implementation at the national-community level.
In addition, delegates will deliberate on Africa’s efforts to bring out practical and grassroots-based action on agriculture and climate change and open up new opportunities for collaboration and strengthening or refining of existing ones – both in terms of technical collaboration and finance-investment partnerships.
“The Forum is organized essentially to encourage optimal dialogue, debates and exchange by all the participants. Effort is made to ensure the discussions are based on and supported by field experiences involving public, private and civil society interactions,” read a statement from the Africa CSA Alliance.
The Africa CSA Alliance is open to all interested stakeholders and is supported by, among others, German Cooperation, the Food and Agriculture Organisation, and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.
The first Africa CSA Alliance meeting was held in May 2014 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Akanna Okeke: 6 Ways to Make People Like You

I’ve been told numerous times that I am very likable and I have seen this for myself too.  Somehow, I just seem to obtain the favour of those around me; from bosses to teachers, to friends to colleagues.  I remember leaving my last job and there was a send off gathering where each co-worker was asked to say what they thought about me.  I got comments like: “He’s a politician”; “He’s in everybody’s camp”; “No, he’s smart and diplomatic. He knows how to please everybody and stay close to key people”.

Snoop Dogg Would Have Gotten “Jail Time” If – Trump

Donald Trump took aim Wednesday at Snoop Dogg, saying the rap star would have gotten “jail time” had he pointed his gun at Barack Obama rather than the current US president in a video. Snoop Dogg, an early figure in California gangsta rap who has mellowed in recent years, this week released a video pegged to the release of his album “Lavender” in which most actors are clowns. One clown — unmistakably a parody of Trump, sporting bouffant hair and a red tie that dangles below the waist — gesticulates wildly at the podium of “The Clown House.” The clown puts his hands up as if under arrest as Snoop Dogg draws a pistol, with a flag popping out that says “Bang!” “Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!” Trump wrote on Twitter. Snoop Dogg was one of the leading rappers of the 1990s with hits such as “What’s My Name?” and “Gin & Juice.” In recent years, he has shed h...
