The Niger State Police Command on Tuesday,  paraded 11 suspects for Armed robbery, kidnapping and cattle rustling
Briefing newsmen at the Headquarters, spokesperson for the command, ASP Muhammad Abubakar said in an effort to deal with gun running and arms dealing business which is one of the causes of kidnapping, culpable homicide, armed robbery, cattle rustling and violent crimes in the state, the operatives of the Command arrested one Ayuba John who specialized in fabricating local firearms.

He was linked to a five-man gang of robbers/kidnappers namely;
1. Abdullahi Naliman aged 45yrs
2. Abubakar Shehu aged 43yrs
3. Ali Usman aged 23yrs
4. Mohammed Rufai aged 28yrs
5. Umar Mohammed Babuga aged 35yrs all 'm' of Saminaka Village in Lapai LGA, who robbed one Dingi Alhaji Bako 'm' of Lapai LGA of his Bajaj motorcycle in his house and later called to threaten him to pay the sum of #400,000 else he will be kidnapped, which he paid the money without hesitation.
Exhibits recovered includes; one single barrel gun, five live cartridges, filing machine, drilling machine and four piece of pipe.

In another development, one Lucky Simon, 34, of Jamaku village in Mashegu LGA, who mastermind to kidnap Ugochiyere Kenneth, Chinedu Eze, and  Patience Sylvester, all residents of Mashegu LGA in quest for six million naira to boost his pharmaceutical business, was arrested before executing his plan.
In a different operation carried out by the operatives in Rijau LGA, two cattle rustlers, Saminu Adamu 'm' of Zamfara State and Umaru Ali 'm' of Gashiwa Village of Nasarawa State were intercepted and arrested with 16 rustled cattles.
Still under Rijau, one Bawa Hakumi 'm' aged 28yrs was arrested for theft of a cow which was recovered as exhibit. All suspect in question have confessed to their involvement in the respective crimes committed and will be arraigned in court of competent jurisdiction at the end of the investigation.

Governor Al-Makura’s Son To Face Manslaughter Charge

Mr. Khaleel Umar Al-Makura, the son of Nasarawa state governor, Umar Al-Makura, is to to be prosecuted for alleged manslaughter. He was arrested over the killing of a student of Government Secondary School, Lafia. The police say that Khaleed would be charged soon. The killing of Ovye Amos in a road accident on Monday night had sparked a protest in the school.
